Description
The icon shows full-length figures of Saint Prince Michael, in a three-quarter turn to the right, and Saint Martyr Nadia, in a three-quarter turn to the left.
The Prince wears a crimson sakkos decorated with wide gold appliqué bands, and a crown on his head. Above the Prince is the inscription: "St. Prince Mikhail." The Martyr wears a light-green chiton and a red himation. Above her is the inscription: "S. MAR[TYR]... NADEZHDA." The Prince extends his left hand toward Nadia and holds a cross in his right. Saint Nadia stands with her long, loose fair hair, her hands pressed to her chest. Above the saints, in the clouds, in a three-quarter turn to the right, is Jesus Christ, wearing a white chiton, his hands open in a gesture of blessing.
The background of the icon is dark green.
The panel is reinforced with two inset end battens.
The icon was donated to the museum in 1966 by Varvara Ivanivna Kreider, a resident of Kharkiv.
