Description
The icon shows a half-length image of Jesus Christ, in a three-quarter turn to the left, with long dark-blond hair, a small beard and mustache; around his head is a faint glow.
Christ wears a dark-green chiton and himation; his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing, and in his left he holds a branch. The background of the icon is dark brown; in the upper corners are the inscriptions "IIS" (left) and "KHRS" (right).
The icon panel is reinforced with one inset horizontal batten.
The icon was made in 1890 and set into a wooden frame imitating an icon case. It belonged to a peasant woman of the village of Parkhomivka, Bohodukhiv district, Kharkiv province. It was donated to the museum by M. O. Zavhorodnia during an expedition in 1962.
