Prayer Book

Printed at the printing house of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in 1899.

Printed in a single color, the text in Church Slavonic, set within a thin frame with ornamented corners. The pagination is numeric, at the top center of the pages. The book's decoration is complemented by full-page engravings (ten subjects), headpieces, and tailpieces.

At the beginning of the book is the table of contents, and at the end a Paschalion for the years 1900–1923. The cover is of stiff cardboard, covered in calico, decorated with stamping: on the front, an oval frame with floral motifs in the corners and a flowering cross at the center; on the back, an oval medallion with a floral border, set at the center of a frame of the same type.

The prayer book includes morning, midday, and evening prayers, as well as prayers dedicated to the holy martyrs.

The book was transferred to the museum by the Council for Religious Affairs under the Kharkiv Regional Executive Committee in 1985.
