Fabric Sample for Clergy Vestments

Made in the early 20th century.

A trapezoid-shaped sample of brocade fabric, woven in a plain and pattern (perebirna) weave.

The "cross" ornament takes the form of straight, equal-armed silver-colored crosses, arranged on a light background in diagonal rows so that a primary pattern and a background pattern are formed simultaneously. The edges of the fragment are cut.

The sample was donated by Akylina Ivanivna Tykhova of Kharkiv in 1989.
