Description
Printed in the late 19th century. Printed in a single color, the pagination centered at the top of the page, the numbering underscored with a thin line. The book's ornamentation is complemented by a headpiece, a tailpiece, and a full-page engraving with the subject "Icon of the Mother of God 'Unexpected Joy.'" The cover is of paper; the spine is homemade, of white paper glued on to hold the pages together.
The book was acquired by the museum from Volodymyr Stepanovych Cherviakov of Kharkiv in 1979.
Note: an akathist is a church hymn glorifying the Mother of God, Jesus Christ, angels, or saints.
