Description

A fragment of a sticharion, of bleached homespun linen, in the form of a wide band of fabric, embroidered across its field with a stylized floral ornament in silk thread of light-beige, brown, and light-blue tones. The ornament consists of three branching bouquets (a "tree of life" motif), underscored below by a band of "retiaz" and a winding branch with a flower and leaves.

The fragment of the sticharion entered the museum from the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda.

During the occupation of Kharkiv in the Second World War (1941–1943), the object remained in the occupied city.
