Description
A fragment of a sticharion, made of bleached homespun linen, in the form of a wide elongated band. Along one long edge and both short edges is a wide embroidered border with a floral ornament. The border's composition consists of a central ornamental band (motifs of a floral branch and a four-petaled flower within a field of branches); above and below the band run narrow chain-like ribbons, along which are evenly placed small isolated trefoil branches with twigs; individual elements of the embroidery (flower centers, stem joints) are worked in silver metal thread, providing a contrast with the green tones of the floral ornament.
The object belonged to the collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda; during the occupation of Kharkiv in the Second World War (1941–1943), it remained in the museum.
