Metal Thread Lace

Made of silver and gilt thread.

Handmade lace, woven from twisted silver and gilt metal threads. The ornament is a stylized floral motif of rounded leaves with scrollwork, with a trefoil set into the field. Along the top edge is a narrow border with a toothed finish.

Monastery-made lace, produced in the second half of the 18th century.

Belonged to the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. Remained in the museum during the occupation of Kharkiv during the Second World War (1941–1943).
