Description
Handmade lace, woven from twisted silver and gilt metal threads. The ornament is geometric and stylized floral, in the form of a wave-like band, with a three-petaled half-flower set into its recesses. The lower edge of the lace is finished with scallops. Along the top edge is a wide border with an inscribed meander.
Monastery-made lace, produced in the second half of the 18th century.
Belonged to the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. Remained in the museum during the occupation of Kharkiv during the Second World War (1941–1943).
