Description
Handmade lace, woven from twisted silver and gilt metal threads together with silver and pink metal spangle. The ornament is a stylized floral motif of a silver and a pink flower with two leaves, both with their heads pointing downward. Along the top edge is a wide border.
The use of two-colored spangle creates an illusion of shimmering flowers.
Monastery-made lace, produced in the second half of the 18th century.
Belonged to the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. Remained in the museum during the occupation of Kharkiv during the Second World War (1941–1943).
