Description

Handmade lace, woven from twisted silver metal threads. The ornament is geometric, in the form of a chain whose two side links have a mesh fill, while the central link has an inscribed 'snowflake.' The recesses between the links are filled with openwork mesh. Along the edges are small scallops.

Monastery-made lace, produced in the second half of the 18th century.

Belonged to the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. Remained in the museum during the occupation of Kharkiv during the Second World War (1941–1943).
