Description

The object is made of sturdy white cotton twill fabric, tunic-like in silhouette, with a round neckline with a central front slit fastened with buttonholes and plastic buttons; the sleeve is long, with attached cuffs of cruciform gold-toned brocade, fastened with loop-and-button closures.

The sticharion is lined on the reverse with white cotton fabric.

Note: the podryznik (a sticharion for priests; Greek stichárion) is the lower liturgical vestment in the Orthodox and Greek Catholic tradition, worn under the phelonion (riza). It usually takes the form of a long, straight garment with narrow sleeves, gathered at the wrists with cuffs (poruchi).
