Description
The object is a flat, decorative appliqué in the form of an eight-rayed star with an openwork base, embroidered with metal thread. The composition is concentric: at the center is a round medallion with a relief rosette (a stylized four-petaled flower), from which elongated, petal-shaped rays radiate outward. The gaps in the base are filled with a fine, hand-woven mesh; around the edge of the star is a bordering relief contour.
The object entered the museum's holdings in 1956.
