Description
A rectangular cover of factory-made brocade in violet-blue and gold-silver tones. On the front is an ornament of stylized Baroque medallions, within which are floral motifs. At the center is embroidered a four-armed cross with rays between its arms. The edges of the cover are trimmed with golden fringe. The reverse is lined with yellow silk.
The object entered the museum's holdings in 1956.
Note: the cover was used in Orthodox worship to cover the sacred vessels (the diskos and the chalice), or as a smaller "aer" (the larger covering veil).
