Description
Made of factory-produced half-silk fabric with a pale-pink ground, decorated with a floral pattern woven in silk thread of soft pink, yellow, brown, and green (a rose motif with winding branches and leaves). The composition is completed by a narrow metal galloon (braid trim) sewn around the perimeter of the front side.
On the reverse, the pelena is lined with pale-pink cotton fabric.
Note: "pelena" is a general term for a group of ornamental textiles used in church practice. This particular pelena was used as an underlay beneath liturgical objects.
