Aer (Great Cover).

Takes the form of a rectangular cloth. The front is made of fine, pink-ash-toned silk fabric, decorated with satin-stitch embroidery in colored silk and twisted silver metal thread. At the center of the composition is an equal-armed cross with widened lobes (embroidered in silver thread), into which a flower with a branch and leaves is set (embroidered). Around the cross is a symmetrical floral ornament in pastel tones, in the form of a garland of lush carnations, roses, and other small flowers, entwined with a pink ribbon.

The reverse is lined with homespun block-printed fabric with a floral ornament — winding branches in white, pink, and light-blue tones on a terracotta ground.

Note: the cover was used in Orthodox worship to cover the sacred vessels (the diskos and the chalice).
