Description
The book was printed in Kyiv in 1884. Printed in a single color. Numeric pagination appears in the upper outer corners. The cover is of stiff cardboard, covered in paper with violet abstract streaks. On the front cover is a pasted, light-colored paper label giving the author, title, and place of publication. The spine is made of light-brown cardboard. The edition contains the table of contents and the main text.
It is an offprint from books I–IV of the Ukrainian periodical "Kyivska Starovyna" ("Kyiv Antiquity"). The edition entered the museum's holdings in 1961.
Note: Ioanikii Galiatovsky was a member of the Ukrainian scholarly circle of the second half of the 17th century — a theologian, professor, and rector of the Kyiv-Mohyla Collegium, author of works of moral and spiritual guidance and of the first textbook of homiletics (the branch of theology dealing with the theory and practice of church preaching).
