Description
The book was printed in 1861. Printed in two colors (black and red), in Church Slavonic. At the beginning of the book is a preface set within an ornamental frame. At the end of the book is the table of contents. Letter foliation appears in the upper right corner of the page, with signatures at the bottom center, running heads, and catchwords. The book's decoration is complemented by initials, headpieces, tailpieces, and cast ornaments, and contains engravings (four subjects).
On the left flyleaf is a handwritten text in blue ink: "Sung during the Passion service on Friday..."
The book has a hard cover, with boards of stiff cardboard, covered in thin brown-toned leather. Around the edge of the boards is a narrow black ornamental frame; the edges of the text block are gilded.
The book belonged to the family of the Kharkiv artist Mykola Mykolaiovych Storozhevsky.
Donated to the museum in 1953 by [N. A.] Lapin of Kharkiv.
