Fragment of an artophorion.

Takes the form of a shaped relief overlay, made of white-toned metal with gold spraying. At the base of the decoration is a rocaille cartouche with a relief field, surmounted by a crown with a cross. Against the background of the cartouche are two crossed staffs and an oval medallion depicting a Tau cross entwined by a serpent.

Note: the artophorion belonged to the pre-war (pre-1941) part of the collection of the H. S. Skovoroda Historical Museum; it was evacuated in 1941, and the overlay, as a fragment of the artophorion, was returned to Kharkiv in November 1944.
