Cross base

Made of silver-toned metal with gold spraying. Round in cross-section, tapering toward the top, ending in an "apple" (knop) bearing a text (in Russian): "...to the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, for the repose of Jeremiah ... and Barbara...18.."

Note: the cross belonged to the pre-war (pre-1941) part of the collection of the H. S. Skovoroda Historical Museum; it was evacuated in 1941, and this fragment of the cross, in the form of its base, was returned to Kharkiv in November 1944.
