Fragment of the Gospel cover

The object is a fragment of the central plaque from the binding of a Gospel, oval in form with a wavy edge. At the center is a Gospel scene. The image is complemented by a lush floral ornament.

Note: the Gospel belonged to the pre-war (pre-1941) part of the collection of the H. S. Skovoroda Historical Museum, which was evacuated in 1941; this fragment was returned to Kharkiv in November 1944.
