Description
A church chalice, made of gold-toned metal. The body is cylindrical, with a double rim curved outward. Around the outside of the chalice runs the Church Slavonic inscription "The Seal of the Gift of the Holy Spirit," repeated twice and separated by a schematic image of a four-pointed cross set within a rhombus. The inscriptions are bordered by zigzag bands.
The chalice belonged to the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. During the Second World War it was evacuated and returned to Kharkiv in November 1944.
