Description

Printed in Vienna in 1855.

Printed in two colors (black and red), in Church Slavonic. At the beginning of the book is a preface set within an ornamental frame, followed by the table of contents. The text has running heads and catchwords. Letter foliation appears in the upper right corner of the page, with signatures at the bottom center. The book's decoration is complemented by headpieces, tailpieces, initials, and cast ornaments.

On the first flyleaf is a provenance mark in the form of a round black-ink stamp reading: "Hegumenate of the Sisters Basilians in Slovita," together with a handwritten text in black ink: "I commend myself to your holy prayers. +Nikolai... of Volyn. January 2, 1937."

The cover is of stiff cardboard, bound in brown leather. On the front cover is a gold-stamped eight-pointed flowering cross. The back cover is lost.

Note: an anthologion is a collection of selected services for all twelve months of the year.

The hegumenate (monastery) of the Sisters Basilians in the village of Slovita (today in Lviv, formerly Zolochiv district, Lviv region) is the Monastery of the Exaltation of the Precious Cross of the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great, one of the oldest women's monasteries of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Western Ukraine.
