Description
The base of the cross is made of gray-toned metal, six-lobed, with wavy edges curved outward. Each lobe is decorated with stylized floral rosettes, alternating with palmettes and acanthus leaves. Fixed to the cylindrical stem is an "apple" (knop/socket) with relief decoration in the form of leaves. A metal rod is fitted into the socket for attaching the cross.
Note: the cross belonged to the pre-war (pre-1941) part of the collection of the H. S. Skovoroda Historical Museum; it was evacuated in 1941, and this fragment of the cross, in the form of its base, was returned to Kharkiv in November 1944.
