<lido:descriptiveNoteValue xml:lang="en">The book was printed at the printing house of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra in 1674.
Printed in a single color, the text in Church Slavonic, set within a double linear frame; catchwords appear at the foot of the pages, with letter foliation in the upper right corner of the frame.
The book contains numerous marginalia reflecting its provenance. Among them, legible on the flyleaves: "Read by the priest Vasilii," "Read by Petr," "Read...at the Church of the Protection in Sosnytsia," "On August 23, 1784, taken by Father Deacon Vasilii...for 50 kopecks," "Acquired by Afanasii, the steward..."
On the pages of the book one can read: "This little book, called the Chronicle, of the Sosnytsia Zahradska church.../ her son.../[Meshnetsova].../ in 1785/ the month/ of April/ the 3rd day/ Petr/.../ of the deacon."
The book has a hard cover, with boards of stiff cardboard, covered in leather with stamping: on the front board, around the perimeter, a frame of floral and geometric ornament elements, within whose field is a depiction of the Crucifixion in a vertical rectangle; on the back board, a geometric ornament of straight and toothed lines, complemented by vertical floral garlands.
The book entered the museum's holdings in 1954.</lido:descriptiveNoteValue>
