Ф. Сумцова M. F. Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum ТК-305 The fragment of the sticharion is made of bleached homespun linen. It takes the form of a wide band, sewn from three main pieces and one remnant, joined by "horodky" hemstitching. Most of the field is occupied by a complex ornamental composition embroidered in red cotton thread. The ornament is a stylized floral motif, as if "laid over" the fabric. At the base of the composition are small tree-flowers, from which winding shoots with numerous flowers and leaves spread on either side. The ornament is bordered above and below by a longitudinal band of "retiazi" (chain-like border) with rhythmically repeated stylized flowers with leaves and tendrils. The edges of the fragment are overcast with red cotton thread. The object belonged to the collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. During the occupation of Kharkiv in the Second World War (1941–1943), the object remained in the occupied city. Production Невідомо Unknown 18th century 1700 1800 ТК-305 item Слобожанський код.
