Ф. Сумцова M. F. Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum ТК-304 The fragment of the sticharion is made of bleached homespun linen, in the form of a wide band with the remains of an attached piece. Most of the field is occupied by a complex ornamental composition embroidered in red cotton thread. The ornament is a stylized floral motif, as if "laid over" the fabric. At the base of the composition are small tree-flowers, from which winding shoots with numerous flowers and leaves spread on either side. The ornament is bordered above and below by a longitudinal band of "retiazi" (chain-like border) with rhythmically repeated stylized flowers with leaves and tendrils. The edges of the fragment are overcast with red cotton thread. In the upper part of the fragment is a "horodky" ("townlets") or "cherv'yachok" ("little worm") hemstitch. The object entered the museum from the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda. During the occupation of Kharkiv in the Second World War (1941–1943), the object remained in the occupied city.
