Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum ТК-1547 The sticharion is a long, tunic-like vestment with wide sleeves. The front is combined, made of several fabrics. The upper part of the body (shoulders, chest) and the lower band of the hem are of plain blue fabric. The central field on the chest and back is of striped, block-printed cotton fabric with a floral-geometric ornament (alternating red, yellow, and light-blue vertical stripes with small white flowers and crosses). The sleeves are cut partly from light cotton fabric with a small red diamond pattern (chintz). The edges of the neckline, the front slit, and the sleeve cuffs are bound with yellow ribbon. The joins between pieces are decorated with gold-toned metal galloon and woven metal lace. On the side seams, in the lower part of the sticharion, are sewn brown silk ribbons, tied in a "bow." On the back is sewn a cross laid out in green silk fabric (satin). The sticharion is lined with homespun, block-printed linen with a black floral pattern, and with chintz ornamented with floral garlands and bands of scale-like pattern in brown and light-blue tones. The object entered the museum's holdings in 1956. Note: the sticharion is a long liturgical vestment with wide sleeves, worn in the Orthodox tradition by deacons and lower clergy.
