Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum ТК-257 The sticharion is made of bleached homespun linen. Its cut is identical to the Ukrainian women's "ustavkova" shirt (with inset shoulder panels). The body is sewn from four widths of fabric; the neckline is round, with a deep slit at the center front, densely gathered around the neck, and finished with a narrow border with two eyelets at the edge for tying with a ribbon. The sleeve is long, with a gusset and inset panel along the weft, densely gathered at the bottom and finished with a border with two eyelets. Along the bottom of the body, the sleeves, the edge of the neckline, and the slit, the sticharion is overcast with blue thread. The hem is bordered with a wide band of embroidery (24 cm wide) in silk thread, with a floral ornament in the Ukrainian Baroque style. The composition consists of many small elements forming a dense pattern in red-brown and greenish tones. The repeat of the ornament is based on four-petaled flowers and star-shaped flowers within a circle, joined by shoots into a single wave-like band. The composition is bordered above and below by two chain-like borders, between which is a garland formed of stylized palmettes and acanthus leaves. The outer edges of the composition are toothed, finished with stylized small leaves with fine branches. The object belonged to the collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda.
