Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum М-4474 The icon is rectangular, made of yellow metal, with a shallow recessed "ark," enameled in white, blue, yellow and green. At the center is a half-length image of the Mother of God in a tunic and maphorion. She inclines her head to the left toward the Infant Christ, whom she holds on her right arm. The Infant Christ presses his cheek to the Mother of God's cheek and embraces her neck with both arms. Beside the halos of the Mother of God and the Infant are the Church Slavonic inscriptions "MR" (Mary), "ΘU" (Mother of God), and "IC XC" (Jesus Christ). Around the perimeter of the icon is a field with a geometric ornament.
