Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum НДФ-4028 At the center of the composition rises the figure of the Virgin Mary, standing on a crescent moon and ascending to heaven amid clouds. She is shown as a young woman, with long dark hair and her hands crossed in prayer on her chest. The Virgin Mary wears a white dress and a bright-blue cloak. On all sides, the Mother of God is surrounded by a circle of angels, emerging from soft clouds and golden mist. The angels are in continuous motion: some gaze at Mary, others support the hem of her dress or play. Around Mary's head, the clouds part, forming a warm golden glow that illuminates her face and the upper part of her figure. On the reverse, at the lower right, is an inscription in Polish: "Niepokalane poczęcie Najśw. Marji Panny. podług kompozycji Murilla malował: Mieczysław Barwicki. Petersburg w marcu 1902 roku. egz. 2-ci N 1333" ("The Immaculate Conception of the Most Holy Virgin Mary. After the composition of Murillo. Painted by Mieczysław Barwicki, St. Petersburg, March 1902. 2nd copy, No. 1333"). The painting was made in 1902.
